The concept of commits is similar to that of drafts. As developers work on their projects, commits are generated whenever a good point is reached.Information:
Commits are snapshots of your files. Let's say you're building a model airplane. Whenever you are at a perfect stopping point, you take a picture with your camera. After the airplane is completed, you can use your photos to look at the various stages of its construction. The model airplane represents the software project you are working on. Every picture of the model airplane you took is a commit. The importance of the commits cannot be overstated. Adding a commit signifies that you are recording the changes that you have made.
