Back-End Development

Definition:

Backend development is the field of web development that focuses on how a web application or website functions. It is what happens behind the scenes.

Information:

The backend, also called “server-side,” is the website part you don’t see as a user. It is the part responsible for storing data and organizing it, thereby ensuring everything present on the client-side works properly. The backend continually communicates with the website’s front-end, receiving and sending information displayed on the webpage. Like a restaurant chef and his team prepare orders without the restaurant customers seeing them, backend developers write code that allow web browsers to communicate with servers and databases.
